Alas poor Blogger I Knew It Well

Not that it is really dead. My ability to get to it or anyone's blog that I *read* via my computer at work? THAT is dead. Frickin coporate nazi's. What really torques me is that while have every right to do this, and I understand why they did, I just wish they had not fucked up my actual work software as well. It is web based and yes, it is even more hosed than it was before.

So long story short, I will be hit and miss for about 2 weeks. Unless I am over at the parentals, as I am currently, I will be missing in action for postage. I did get my computer, but I need to hunt up cables and power cords and my mouse and keyboard and then get Mr Comcastic out to hook me up. I should be back in the saddle again by the 23rd or so.

Side note...My favorite part of that Aerosmith song? The horsey noises :P

See? I'm still nuts, just not able to inflict it on you for a bit ;0

I Was In Love With The Place In My Mind

Lordy Lordy it has been a week. Or more since the last day off I had was way back there on the 23rd. And it is Friday, the day I am supposed to bless you all with my wisdom and fine taste and give you a recommendation, and here I am feeling less than fabulous. Fortunately, the movie I am recommending this week has Fabulousness to spare.

If you have, some how, managed to not see Little Miss Sunshine yet, get a move on! This is the little movie that could, would and did. Every nomination it has received is so well deserved. Little Miss Sunshine rises above the "indie movie" cliche's thanks to stellar performances by the cast. The entire ensemble cast delivers moving and satirical performances by knowing that less is more when dealing with such kooky characterizations. How kooky, you ask? Imagine a road trip movie featuring a failed motivational speaker, his long suffering wife, her brother the nation's top Proust scholar (who happens to be gay and suicidal), a teen son who is mute by choice as a form of protest, grandpa the heroin addict who is more foulmouthed than a convention of Tourette's sufferers, and Olive the once and future Little Miss Sunshine who is the very polar opposite of the Jon Bennet Beauty Queenette.

While the action may occasionally seem a bit forced, the cast more than makes up for it with the portrayal of a family that teeters on the edge of desperation when fate conspires to pull them firmly into the reality of their lives and out of the fantasy existence they have constructed. Not a candidate for the "feel good movie" of the year, Little Miss Sunshine, none the less, shines for it's comic look at life, and loss and the dignity of losing your own way. Go rent, buy, or view in some way, shape, or form now and get your Super Freak on!

Under Pressure

Just a fast shout out to the Bloggosphere to say "hi!" since I am swamped today and may not get around to an acutal post. Bad Me!

She's So Fine, There's No Telling Where The Money Went

Man it is coooold again here. I do not think I have had a morning in the last month where the temp was above freezing when I got to the car to go to work. The entire country is cold too from what I can see. I feel for you Atlantan's getting snow. You guys are about as prepared for it as Oregonians are. They showed Hartsfield on CNN this am and it looked like a total CF.

Watched Idol last night and they finally frickin delivered. Young guy named Brandon Rogers has a voice that sounds like Seal and Al Green had a love child with Gladys Knight. Yes I know, that is a threesome and chromosomally impossible, but work with me people. It sure seems like this year they are spending more air time on the "NO" people than on those who make it through.

And the ones I have seen get the ticket are rewinds of last year. We have the Pickler wannabe, who frankly out Pickled the Pickler with her Southern Gothic, "Daddy is paralyzed cause he caught his woman with another man and done shot her and himself!" Tennessee Williams would be so proud. And I caught a flash of a bald white boy ala Daughtry last night as well. I am over the auditions, though. Bring on Hollywood week!

On a final Idol note, am I the only one who would KILL to see Courtney Love as a judge?!
