**Update for Bestest Carnival**
With the theme this time around being "embarrassment" this is the post that immediately popped into my mind. Why? Read it. If this is how your mind worked, would you really want to publish that fact? Kidlet calls this the "Crazy Mama" post!
I have crawled out from under my rock. I had to leave early on Friday as it occurred to me that if I didn't I might just fall out of my chair. Nothing like a temp of 102 to make a girl feel her best. Got myself home, and ya know what? I don't really remember doing it! That is never a good sign. Crashed on the couch and slept until 6ish. Scrounged in the medicine cabinet and food me some of that sudafed PE crap. Friggin methheads have really screwed us. Paying a 15 buck copay on the real sudafed is just not cool.
So Friday night I watched Decades Rock with Skynyrd and Co. "Co" being Bocephus, Three Doors Down, and Bo Bice. Damn good show. Love me some Skynyrd. And Bo Bice is the shiznitz, I don't care what all those Idol haters say.
Talk about your dichotomy, though. Hell, an oxymoron even. My two favorite types of music? British Pop (all it's incarnations from house to goth to punk to new wave) and Southern Rock. Could there be a bigger gap? Perhaps what that tells me is I need a nice Southern Goth boi. Preferably not from the Poppy Z. Brite page of Southern Goth Boi. They have a tendency to not bat for my team.
So Saturday I wake up still thinking I will be hauling my ass in here to the office. I think the fever brought on that delusion. I dragged ass to the store to get more cold meds and food and I had to come home and nap after a 20 minute trip out of the house. Watched more television in a fevered haze. Learned a few things:
1. Never watch Serendipity on or around the anniversary of a break up. (The Calvin wearing ex BF variety.) For that matter, I am pretty well positive that most John Cusack movies should be viewed with extreme caution at times like that. If you are in a truly self punishing mood, bring on Say Anything and beat yourself over the head with Lloyd Dobler. I must like myself a teeny bit as I didn't give into that temptation.
2. Never weigh yourself when you are sick, feverish, depressed, and have just watched a John Cusack movie on or around a break up anniversary. I know I am in my Fat Brando phase due to being too stupid to date, but I might just have gone overboard. The added bonus of rendering yourself nearly invisible aside, it is probably not the healthiest thing I could be doing for myself. Kinda like smoking with a cold. (yeah yeah, I KNOW! I am a retard.)
3. John Cusack is the perfect man. Or at least he has played all facets of the perfect man. Even his assholes (Rob in High Fidelity for example) are attractive and even lovable in their own way. At the very least they are self aware enough to know they are assholes and try to improve. And they are EMPLOYED!
Excuse that last digression.
4. Miss Holly Golightly is Scarlett O'Hara without balls.
5. The song Moon River will totally stick in your head unless replaced by something equally as compelling. Like my title song inspiration.
6. A Big Mac tastes awful when you are sick. Which just seems so very wrong somehow.
7. She Wants Revenge really really sucks ass. This I knew before but being forced to endure them on tv when I felt like death warmed over simply reinforced this belief. I hope Ian Curtis comes back from the dead and clubs them till they are jello.
8. Two hours here have worn me out. Which sucks, I wanted to surf z'net but I think I am gonna have to head back to surfing z'couch.
Oh...Just Like Heaven. Me loves this song. Sometimes I want to hug my radio, ya know?

stupid john cusack. i hate him and love him in equal amounts. high fidelity is one of my favorite movies and i quote it often.
movies ruin the reality of romance. we'd be better off to not compare anything to anything else but sadly, that will never happen. just remember- joe lies... when he cries.
I agree with Tina on the John Cusack thing. I saw Must Love Dogs the other day on HBO and I'm pretty sure I've seen Serendipity before.
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad.....I am just past three weeks having something awful. Well, the first week was the only one that was truly terrible, but the two plus weeks after have been that irritating stage of still trying to cough/blow stuff out. Ew.
I love all music, but southern rock is still one of my least favorites. I am warming up to it, though.
Ah Lloyd Dobler. He who has ruined men for my entire generation! Joe Lies indeed!
LOVE John Cusack. He is a cutie-pie. America's Sweethearts and Must Love Dogs are the 2 movies in which he is totally adorable.
