Que Sera, Sera

"Corn Nuts!"

So uttered Heather Chandler whilst clutching her throat seconds before her death in Heathers. How can I not love corn nuts when obviously they are the font of all final wisdom? Plus, they are tasty!

Do you know what pisses me off? Cheap ass rinky dink sex toys. When a pinata is tougher than your vibrator, you are dealing with sub par "novelty toys." (Side note, I know Bond is not shocked by this commentary :P)

Did ya miss me?

Lord what a month. I am officially done with the hell time of year at my job. The fact that it runs Jan - July is the pits though. I mean I will still be working Overtime but not nearly as much. I don't think I have worked less than 10 hours each day for over a week. Went in early today and home early as I am supposed to have Comcast come back out to deal with a funky error I get with my On Demand. Sure seems like they have had issues, but at least the customer services has been good. And Arturo the computer guy from last weekend totally fixed my wireless issues. New router and modem and redid the wireless and so far so good. Next up, Mr. Washing Machine Repair Man! Oh joy. More butt crack :P

Kidlet is off on her camping trip with her dad, his GF, her family, and the other children. Her dad knows to keep an eye on her and not let her hang unattended with the Columbine Twins or swim without a life jacket. Or kill her by driving like an ass. Cause then I'd have to kill him myself and jail would just suck, ya know? And I bet they don't let you have adult "novelty toys" sub par or otherwise.

I am suffering huge guilt due to my lack of cd rippaged. I have barely made a dent in it. Yikes. On a related note, I made myself a nice little mix cd last night. I finally got the Corrs cd with the Andrea/Bono duet of "When The Stars Go Blue" which I totally absolutely adore. Again it is musically weird combo wise but I think there is a certain vibe running through all of these songs. No, that was not a sex toy comment :P

When The Stars Go Blue - The Corrs Featuring Bono

(Big thanks to the unshockable Bond for showing me how to use this handy audio uploader!)

Who here hates Ventriloquist dummies? *raises hand and waves it frantically*

I LOATHE them. I blame the movie Magic. That movie gave me recurring nightmares that I still have to this day and a huge phobia about Charlie McCarthy Poor Candance. I'd have died. So the movie Dead Silence should have scared the bejebus out of me. Unfortunately it was lacking. Don't get me wrong, those frickin dolls were awful and I had to hide my eyes numerous times. I mean a clown ventriloquist named Cornelious?!!? You just KNOW that is some bad juju right there. But plot wise the movie was just not snappy enough. Hands down the best actor in it was Donnie Wahlberg. And getting to sing "Whoa oh oh oh oh, whoa oh oh..oh. The Right Stuff" at kidlet and inappropriate moments was funnah.

And now it is time for me to cruise cable and figure out what program I want to be involved with when the cable guy shows up to screw it up. Have a lovely weekend and y'all come back now, ya hear?

Nobody Loves No One

Ok first off, I slept like crap and I totally blame CSI. I hate ventriloquist dummies. It goes all the way back to a reoccurring nightmare from childhood where I am trapped in a chair being laughed at by a Charlie McCarthy dummy. It is unpleasant. To this day if there is shit going on in my life that I am not facing I tend to get the nightmare. Such fun. So last night's season finale with the HORRID little Chloe doll freaked me out in a big way. I had to sleep under the covers. I did find Catherine's David Lynch crack wildly amusing though. She raised a good point. Where was the dwarf?

Parent teacher conference went well. My but daughter is a saucy little wench. This I already knew, but boy howdy the collection of her writing work from school totally proved it. She included her review of the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. She hated it. She hates every last single thing Gary has ever written. She called him pretentious with a tendency for using dumbed down dialogue but occasionally tossing in an obscure word so that the reader gets that Gary is smart, he is just writing stupid for the masses that read him. She lit into him like I do with Ernest Hemingway. Half way through her reading her dad turned and looked at me and said he was hearing my rant on Hemingway in his head. She was not quite as nasty as I am. I once told a very pretentious English teacher that the reason Ernie offed himself was that someone made him read his own books. And I meant it. The apple has not fallen too far from the tree. Now I just need to pin her to her seat long enough to get her hooked on Catcher In The Rye.

Hrmm...maybe after I re-read it. It has been a 2 or so years since I last read it. I like Franny and Zooey a lot too. I know everyone has probably read Catcher, but if you liked him check out Franny and Zooey.

Tonight kidlet and I go and get her the electric guitar starter kit. 199 gets her the guitar, and tiny amp, power cords, shoulder strap, case, and 5 picks. I think I even talked her dad into paying for part of it. Score! I mean not all of his half, I will settle for a hundred bucks for the lessons and another hundred for her theater workshop.

Speaking of kidlet, she left her phone and (gasp) all of her CD's in my car last night. Why she took her bag of CD's with her to the conference is a mystery to me. The long and the short of it being, she is around the corner at her dad's all day today. No school. So I get to use my am break and run her crap over to her. Maybe I will be nice and take her food. She emailed me last night at 11:57 so I totally know she is going to be uber cranky. Lucky Mom.
