Radio Free Brainwaves

Talk about your coincidences. See that post two down from this? With the Sin reference? That is from a song by Electronic. Not one of your more commonly heard songs even on my beloved KNRK for all that the band is comprised two of the Gods of that era/genres.

And guess what they just decided to play? That song! Which is Get The Message for any of you wondering.

I admit, I am a serious, hardcore Electronica, BritPop, Madchester ho.

Boo Bitch Craft

Apparently I am a true Goth

I would like to give props to this person for creating the least MallGoth quiz I have come across on Quizilla. Anyone who can reference The Creatures is ok by me.

And I dig that picture. No clue on who's it really is, but nice work Photographer_01

I've Counted The Nights Of Living In Sin

Headaches suck. Truly, I feel like my head is trying to launch off my shoulders. And I have to work, run and get kiddo, come back and work more, go to Gramps for his party and then get groceries. All told, I should be home and able to rest sometime around...oh say....8pm? Yippy.

Bitch moan bitch moan. Whine.

K...I think I am done. Been a long week. Boss pissed me off thereby causing me to say fuck it and apply for a couple of jobs. I've been in this one for nearly 5 years so I think I am probably due for a change o' pace. Good luck finding someone willing to do this job. I get to go into interviews not caring, which I have always found mighty helpful. When you have a job, and you are just exploring, you are far less likely to be all nervous and shit when interviewing. That's how I ended up with the team leader position years ago. Panel interview with 12 freakin people and I figured there was no way in hell I'd get it. I just applied for the interview experience and practice.

Tomorrow kidlet and I are going to have a quiet day. Shopping, Barnes and Nobles, and Everyday Music. That is it. I might even take a nap. Probably have to drug myself to fall asleep but I like the concept of napping so I just might do it!

What I really need is a massage but I think Julie is booked for months. Sigh....

/cracks the whip

Off to work.

Wham Bam Thank You Ma'am!

Seriously fast post-a-roonie. I am outta here and I am starved. But just had to add that I tossed up links to Brunching and The Dark Side.

Kiss them for me..........

I'll See You Again When The Stars Fall From The Sky

Loooooooooong week. Ended up not going out on Sunday. Had a migraine from hell during the night and had to get kiddo to find my meds for me. Sunday night she got sick so I was out of the office on Monday. Back at it yesterday, but I was too beat to blog. Sounds like a punk song.

So far it looks like I might make my deadline this month. That would be a first for the month of July. Like ever. Closest I have come is 92%. Grouchy co-worker day but hey, it's not like I am gonna give a shit about it on my death bed so I ain't gonna sweat it now.

Kiddobean is begging me to take her to see Rocky at a theater in Tacoma. Only theater here is a McBeers that is 21 and over only. I could road trip for Rocky. Hells yes I could. Been ages since I have seen it a theater. So that might just have to happen sometime soon.

Found a hella funny article on the The 25 Biggest Wussies in Rock on the blender site courtesy of my favorite radio station KNRK and I admit I howled with laughter over it. Not only does it have some scary info on Chris Martin, but it includes another choice comment on a musical genre from Mr Elvis Costello. Look for it at #1. Of course Robert Smith of The Cure is on the list. He was 25...almost squeeked out of it, Robert! Big hug from one histrionic white kid to another!

Final tangent of the night. Remember I said I was gonna ponder posting on the Dead Like Me boards? Well I did. Came up with a new nickname and had my say. As for the ex, hey if he figures it out and doesn't like it, tough titties. I am staying off the Firefly boards just for him.

Into The Mystic

You are the Beautiful Sunset. You like nature, (as seen in the trees, water, and duck) but are evenly connected with the real world, (as seen in the houses on the side). You are pretty both inside and out, and have a big heart. Overall, you are a good person, so don't ever change. Most compatible with: Winter sunset, because you are both generally good people. Least compatible with: none, for the same reason.

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead

Is there anything better than getting your hands on a truly great book? Not in my sad little world :p

Seriously, Wicked by Gregory Maguire is a truly great book. It's the kind of book where you resent needing to stop reading to get food, or take a leak for that matter. As usual, I started it this morning before heading into work. Why I do this to myself is the question. I want to hole up on my couch with a thermos of coffee, a new pack of smokes, and read it end to end without stopping. Of course that ain't gonna happen.

Woke up at 7 and it was 80 degrees and humid out. And raining. So of course I had to run and take a shower and go sit on the porch to achieve my perfect hair. Looks like it did when I would go to Georgia or Hawaii. Gotta love a state that gives you Good Hair Day, every day.

Kiddobean will be here in a bit. Her dad was cool with the hair, a fact that undoubtedly chaps her ass. She likes irking him. Thank God he gets to be that parent and not moi. She is looking forward to playing on the computer for a couple hours. I am still pondering seeing Clerks II. But now that I started that book, Randall and Dante may just have to wait.

Tomorrow is Dim Sum and books day. Which means I will run right out and buy every other book by Maguire. This time I am going to attempt to be a bright girl and print off my Amazon list and take it with me. Never fails, I get there and my mind blanks on what I want. It is like I turn into a cracked out zombie in the presence of so many books. I wouldn't be surprised to find my eyeballs were spinning.

Just realized we have been in the condo nearly a year now. My how time flies when you are not having fun. Well you know what I mean. It is not like I am miserable, more like I am marking time. I do try to get something good out of each day though. And most of the time I am too busy. Besides I hate wallowing. Of any kind. Mine in particular, but I have precious little patience for it in others.

Ok, it is looking like CD time. My radio is stuck on shit whiny alt rock crap. No offence to Mister Gwen, but I loathe the song Glycerin by Bush. Oh Jesus...Now the new Killers song. They truly suck. Makes me think of that quote in the book (which I highly recommend) U2 At The End Of The World where Elvis Costello refers to Grunge as "Mummy I've wet myself" music. Must admit it made me giggle. Bad Bad Gen X'er!

Oh I watched Eureka last night and I loved it. Have to add that to the must watch list. Wish I could post on it. Of course the Ex does not own the fucking sci fi boards but I'd have to come up with a new screen name, blah blah blah. Kinda burns me though. I can't talk Serenity or Dead Like Me, and now Eureka with like minded folks.

See now reading that, I get pissed. Why can't I? Will ponder this.

Pond Scum

Well one of my past boo boo's in the man department called my eye color that. Less rude people might call them hazel with a lot of green :P

Blue Eye: You are a star gazer, you are peaceful and unpredictable. You have your deep secrets well kept and only show part of who you really are. You are a dreamer and a charmer.

I Feel, Yeah Yeah, Well I Feel That Burning Flame

108 degrees for today's high. That qualifies as a heatwave in Oregon. Hell anywhere. Cept maybe hell :p

108 degrees!!! WTF is up with that? And el zippo humidity. I hate dry heat. Everyone bitches about the south and the humidity, but I loathe dry heat. My sinuses hurt and my eyes feel like sandpaper. Give me humidity any damn day.

Been a long week. Multiple ongoing issues with my POS program I use at work. 10 hour days, and now heat! Goody!

I am seriously cranky. Gotta work tomorrow but I think kiddobean and I are going to go see Clerks II after I finish up at the office. She be at her dads tonight. Bet he is freakin out about her hair. She went with mom to Magnum Opus this week and got all her hair cut off to a chin length layered bob. That and highlights. Her hair is so curly! I would have killed for those curls at her age. I had to wait until after I had her before my hair went curly. My hair was board straight as a kid.

And the classic part of it is, she went to lunch with my mom afterwards and the waiter served her a pony shot sample of beer! She was laughing her ass off over that one. She's eleven! Of course, at my 12th bday dinner, our waiter did ask for my number. Dad almost knocked him on his ass. Her dad ain't gonna like it much more than mine did.

I am gonna head home and watch my Firefly DVD's. Friday's pretty much bite TV wise. I did catch Dead Like Me on SciFi this week and I loved it. Promptly added that to the netflix list. George cracks me up. I missed Eureka though, kiddobean is addicted to Project Runway. Not that I minded. I am sure it will repeat and I love PR myself. But they axed Malan! I loved Malan. He was flamboyant and funny and made me want to rent Cabaret.

Note to self...Cabaret Netflix!

Sunday I am taking a day off and Kidlet and I are meeting H for Dim Sum and then we are gonna go troll Powells books. AC and iced coffee and books. Works for me.

Well...a deep subject

No catchy title for today. For one, I am rushed for time and highly uncreative and for two...just cause.

Busy busy week. Aside from it being July and all and one of my hardest months at the office. Lemme see...kidlet was camping all week. I went out...hold yourself...two nights in a row! Yessir, the old lady had a hot time two nights. Har.

Not a big deal really. Went out Friday after work for a beer and then met H on Saturday for dinner and drinks at Francis X. Tasty tasty cosmos, people. Most yum. We went from there to a pool bar in Boring Oregon...it is really called that. Had beer and hung out and watched the drunk locals do karaoke. Most fun.

Of course yesterday was kinda grim. I was out and about when that plane crashed at the airshow. Right down the street in fact and I had just come from New Seasons. The field the guy was trying to land in is right there next to the parking lot. It was eerie, looking at a jet and not hearing any noise from engines. All the traffic kinda stopped right there on Cornell as we all came to the same conclusion, "hey...that plane is going to crash."

Anyhow, it was an odd experience to say the least. Now I am outta here.

Airy Fairy

You are Air! Air is associated with music, smell, and incense. Animals of Air include Butterflies, Ladybugs, Eagles, Hawks, and other birds. Air's mythical creature is the Fairy. Air is traditionally placed in the East which is associated with Spring. Spring represents our childhood, that time when we are innocent. Air's time of day is sunrise. Tarot cards that go with this element are the Magician, Justice, the Wheel of Fortune, Temperance, and the Star. Air also rules the suit of Swords. The Air element's Archangel is Raphael. Raphael's name means "Healer of God." He is robed in gold, yellow, and blue. He carries a caduceus, the wand entwined by two serpents used as a symbol of healing. He rules science, knowledge, compassion, and healing. Gems associated with Air are Azurite, Pumice, Mica, Angelite, and Sphene. Balanced people of Air hold Joy, Flexibility, Optimism, and Independence like Fire. Air bound people are very talented and creative, and also very smart.

Kitty On My Foot And I Wanna Touch It

Well Pirates of the Carib was very good. Good enough to make the hours we spent sitting on the theater floor in line worth it. Seriously, we got there at 2:15 and the 3 show was sold out. Got tickets for 3:50 and had to get in line to get into that at 2:30. Fortunately Mia and I had spent the morning at Barnes and Nobles so we had reading material to go around.

Wanna hear fucked? Got home last night and the AC was not a working. And the inspector came out today and it didn't pass code! Mom was there all day for the rest of the 1 year warranty work and is still there waiting for the gonad who was on call last night and never called her to get there. She was told 3:45 and when she called to check, they said that was really a "3 hour window" for arrival. As in he could be there as late as 6:45. What a crock of shit that is!

Anyhow I am sitting here trying not to kill my computer. Well the print server that creates my document, I should say. A more unreliable program may exist out there, but I highly doubt it.

Kidlet is camping with her dad. Went up to Detroit Lake yesterday and is there until Saturday. I am taking her extra on Monday since it will have been a 6 day stretch for him.

Oh and I have a lovely summer cold. Whoo hoo.

Can't I Just Have The Real John? Pretty Please?

Which John Cusack Are You?

Stop Stop Talkin Bout Who's To Blame When All That Counts Is How To Change

Well said. Would you like the back story on that?

So anyhow, yesterday for the first time in ages the ex (boyfriend) logged onto yahoo. Which I have open since my kiddobean is at home during the day and can talk to me when she is at her dads. And friends here in the office have it. Makes bitching easier. So it is always open, and much like this here blog, I like to use lyrics for my status. So for the first time in months he logs on and slaps up a line from Green Day as his status message.

"Nobody's perfect and I stand accused
For lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse"

What the fuck does that mean? Accused? Of what? Other than not getting a motherfucking job. And working on mama's house so does not count. So I am pondering just what it is that he stands accused of. And if he really thinks he has an excuse? Cause he doesn't. He fucked up and it ruined the relationship. And the bitch of it is, it is not like he fucked something up that can't be un-fucked, he just won't fix it!

Pisses me off thinking about it. I so wish I could just hate his guts and be done with it. Of course I don't and that just makes it worse.

/rude

Asshat. Broke my heart over a fucking job. Or lack of one. Lazy and love had a pitched battle and lazy won. Is it any wonder I refuse to date? You know I told him when we were together that if we split up I was done with dating. And the sad part of it is, he was always so freaking insecure about me cheating on him, that he probably thinks I am out doing the wild slut routine. As fucking if. I have excepted I am too stupid to date, and frankly, I just don't have the time. I promise you this, though. When kidlet graduates and I get to move to Atlanta, I am gonna go look him up. And if he is still King of the Slackers, I swear I will kick his sorry ass.

Angels Want To Wear My Red Shoes

Uniqueness- Your Inner Power is Uniqueness! You are very different from everyone around you, and you like it that way. In fact, you'd be furious if you were anything else. To the world outside you are a buoyant, fun loving person, and are probably pretty popular. Yet deep down you feel the urge to be accepted as who you are, and desperately want someone who is truly there for you. You are very indecisive and change your mind regularly over just about anything. You're very opinionated, and bulldoze over anyone who doesn’t share your views. At times you can be very depressed, though few people realize it with your animated personality. You are great funto be around, and enjoy shocking people with your out there views and beliefs. At times however, your urge to be different can work against you, as people don’t often enjoy their ideas of rightand wrong having any shades of grey. But don’t let them get to you; you’re an awesome person who many love. You have no doubt heaps of friends, but don’t always have that close friend/s that you want and need. You strive to be accepted for who you are, and are protective and loyal to those who earn your trust. Although at times you think there may be no one there, look around. There is someone in the shadows who desperately wants to be your friend, who maybe you just haven’t noticed. Don’t let anyone get you down, you’re the one who gives this boring world excitement and culture. Keep it up!
Boy/Girl who will sweep you off your feet: Someone different and independent. Someone who isn’t yourtypical male/female, who can accept that not everything has to be black and white, and yes, there are many, many shades of grey.
Your stone/jewel: Amethyst
Your power: Difference/Change. This is the ability to make a difference in the world, to create new ideas and opinions, and to open up the minds of others to show that there is more than one shade of grey.
Your element: Electricity/Lightening
A quote that applies to you: "Id much rather to be hated for who I am than loved for who I’m not."

Tears Of A Clown

Ok this is just not fair. If I were still dating D, he would be laughing his ass off bout now.

You are HARLEY QUINN! The Joker's hench-wench, your obsession with the clown drove you from manipulative psych-student to acrobatic harlequin. You're pretty far off your rocker, and when you're not bungling the big boss' plans, you're working with gal-pal Poison Ivy or your pet hyenas. Prepare to enter a vicious cycle of sanity pleas and attempted murder.Powers: Acrobatic Talent, Puns.Weapon of Choice: Pop gun and an oversized hammer.Greatest Weakness: Your gullibility- despite a psychology major, at times it seems like Killer Croc could outsmart you.Finest Moment: Hanging Batman upside down over a tank full of ravenous pirhanas with no possibility of escape (it would've worked, too, if it weren't for your poor puddin'!).Insanity Level: Anyone who falls for the Joker is pretty much beyond the point of no return.Quote: "I'm just crazy about... Well, hey, I'm just crazy! Mr J!

Sitting In Clover Looking For The Fifth Leaf

Well the fine folks in Hillsboro certainly have raised the bar for illegal fireworks on residential side streets. We had no official place setting them off, but I swear they had a bargeful. All over. Not just one or two inspired pyros but tons of them. I ended up going for a ride and got to see plenty o big fireworks.

At work, blah blah blah. Wonder how the ex managed with the festive day. Ex boyfriend that is. The ex husband went to a ...rodeo. I'd have paid big money to see him in that environment. Given that he called me low class and gives me shit for liking bands like the Allman Brothers and Skynyrd. Of course I was also frigid and a nympho to judge him.

Anyhow..tangent...back to the ex boyfriend. See he spent some time enjoying the hospitality of the Doraville federales over the 4th courtesy of a psycho ex of his. So it ain't his favorite time. What with that and my issues with the 29th, when we were together during that week, we were both about as relaxed as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Alrighty...coffee needed. Movie tonight.

Illuminate The NOs On Their Vacancy Signs

While I truly hate the song Soul Meets Body, I have to admit that I Will Follow You Into The Dark is one of the prettiest songs I have ever heard. What with that and Crooked Teeth there might be hope for Death Cab yet.

Ah the 4th of July. Nationalism, Patriotism, Jingoism. That's a hell of a lot of isms. I love the fireworks, and I like the idea behind what our country stands for. Just wish we actually stood for it more often, ya know? It's like unions...great in theory, shit in reality. There's a line to piss off the bluecollar forces.

At work here. Just doing 4 hours and then I have errands to run. Finally took back all of my bottles and cans to the recycle spots. Managed to get 10 bucks back. Not bad. I am heading to mom's later to look at the remodel and then to Dead Fred's to get groceries and a plant to replace the one I killed. Methinks a rubber tree plant like the one I have in the other corner. That one I have yet to kill. /knock wood

I dunno if we will have fireworks in Hillsboro since we have the airshow coming up the 15th and 16th. I know we have them Saturday night during the show. Caps off a weekend of having F-18s flying over my house! Seriously, the sonic boom is most impressive. You can count the rivets on those planes they fly so low.

Alrighty...nicotine calls and then coloring. Yippy!

With All Her Dreams Tied In Her Hand

10 hours and I am outta here. I am working 4 hours tomorrow and that is it.

Had a lovely weekend. H and I went to dinner and then had our cosmos and dessert and just hung out and talked all night. Yesterday I didn't even leave the house. Which was kinda pathetic since it was sunny and nice, but I had a good day just hanging out and reading. Had a Miss Clairol moment and got rid of the roots. Today felt like a Friday at the office. Very layed back. I was going to go over to the parentals and check out there kitchen remodel progress but I changed my mind on that one.

Wednesday I am going to go get the kidlet and take her to see The Devil Wears Prada. Should be good. Meryl Streep looks perfect for the part, and kidlet loves the fact that the Uber Bitch of the story has her name.

Talk about an I Want Candy moment...check this out

Now that website states that it "fits most." As fucking if. That wouldn't come close to fitting me. That model is a card carrying member of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee. And I bet it is fragile...remember those candy braclets? They broke if you looked at them cross-eyed!

This Is The Stuff Life's About...

...And It Trips Me Out

Fuck me running. Ended up at home yesterday with Mister AC Installer Man since my mom had to deal with an emergency doctor appointment for my grandfather. He was acting loopy as all get out, apparently. So of course, I didn't get all of June out on time and that fucks my stats for the entire year. Which fucks my raise, kthx.

On the bright side, AC is the shiznits. I finally had a decent nights sleep last night.

Have yet to hear from Miss H on our weekend bacchanalia so I need to call her. The shit part is I now have to work all day today and all day tomorrow. I was already planning on working 4 hours on the 4th as well. So much for doing me right, eh?

I don't have the kidlet (that I know of) on the 4th but I think I will go sit out on the big lawn in our neighborhood and see if I can see the fireworks. We could see them during the airshow out at the airport, so I am hoping I get a show. I love fireworks. I am a frustrated pyro at heart, me thinks. It comes from having a mother who literally stood over me with a hose in hand when I had my sparkler fun as a child. She is a bit uptight.

Since my OT will be going up the next two months I am pondering two expenditures. First off a laptop and wireless network. Second...MORE INK!

You can tell which I get more excited over :P
