Here Comes a Storm: Skittles

There is a new meme in town, Heads or Tails coming to the blogosphere courtesy of Skittles. This weeks theme is LUCK!

Now I think we all know I was Hitler in another life. Luck and Starr are not BFF's. No sir. It is more the piddley little Murphy's Law kinda of bad luck, knock wood. There have been a few times I did get lucky. Nudge nudge wink wink ;)

First and foremost, I am lucky to have the kidlet I have. That child is stellar. She is smart, funny and has a big heart. And a snarky wit. What more could a mother ask for?

Oh and in the last 2 years I have won two raffles. One for a DVD/VCR combo and my precious baby Starbuck's Barista 12 cup coffee maker.

And with that, I have pretty much shot the wad. Don't get me started on men cause luck is gonna start circling the drain!

In keeping with the whole Meme vibe, Tiggerprr has tagged me for the 50K question. Which, given my less than stellar luck, we know I won't get via the lottery!

A philanthropist awards you $50,000 with the stipulation that you may use half of it for yourself and the other half you must use for the benefit of others. By “benefit of others” it can mean anything really, buying a gift for a family member or donating to a charity.

A. How do you spend the money on yourself?

ROFL! Me? Spend money on myself? You are kidding right? They only thing I buy myself are books and music. Now if I were to have 25k I would have to do something more than wipe out Everyday Records. I would pay off all my bills and then, hold yourselves this is really exciting, go on a trip for a month somewhere super warm and then I'd put the rest in savings.

B. How do you use the money for others? Please be detailed, so if you say “give X dollars to charity, let us know what charity and why you select that one.

25 K would be split between New Orleans Habitat for Humanity and The Global Fund. Both of whom I donate to on a regular basis. I try to give $10 bucks of each paycheck to the Global Fund, Habitat, and Darfur refugee charities on a rotating basis. My dream job would be working for Habitat, One.org, or somewhere in Africa where I could actually be useful.

C. If you were to spend part of your money to have a performer do a show for you, who would it be and why?

Fuh Duh....U2. And then I would beg Bono to get me a job at One =)

D. If you were to use it on a new vehicle for yourself, what kind?

Ok 25K is not enough for me to blow it all on a car. So it would just be an new Corolla.

E. If you spent part of it to go to a “fantasy” camp, what type would you choose?

Rock Camp! Other than that, I am with Tigg on the beach somewhere =)

F. If you were to use it to buy season tickets for a sports team, what team would it be?

The Falcons. God knows it would be an interesting season!

G. If you were to use it to go on a cruise (assuming you like cruises) where would you cruise to?

One of those 180 day full on South American, Caribbean cruises. A LOOOOOOONG Cruise.

H. If you were to use it to go to NYC to see a show (or shows) what would you see?

Wicked for sure!

I. Totally off subject (but since Fall is coming) what is your favorite carnival food (I was watching “Big” while writing this and saw them at the carnival)?

It's a tie between caramel apples and elephant ears.
