Ok super fast post since I am so far behind at work I could croak. I did in fact make it home Tuesday night. The temp rose to about 34 and kidlet was dying to be picked up from her dad's. Wasn't too bad if you drove slow. And the best part was that the pizza place around the corner from us delivered!
Was home yesterday and school opened late today so I just rolled on in. Missing WW and TT this week AND I missed Bond's Bestest which REALLY sucked since I reviewed it:P
But, I live, I am here, and I am off to get some work done!

Hush Hush, Keep It Down Now, Voices Carry
I love working here when I am alone in the office. It is all quiet and dark and there are NO PEOPLE!
Don't get me wrong, for once in my life time as an employeed human being, I actually like pretty much everyone I work with. Some more than others, but even the idiots I can pretty much deal with.
Only one person here totally makes me nuts and I keep it in check using my own brand of snarky humor. I have to clean up behind her work constantly although she is a legend in her own mind as far as knowledge base goes. She does provide me with entertainment though, so I shouldn't bitch too much. She's stringy skinny. Like an old chicken. She suffers from "oh dear god I am aging syndrome." Picture a 45+ wench who wears the naughty school girl outfit even though her cleavage area looks like crepe paper and Joan Rivers has smoother facial skin. I just refer to her as "Boobies By Victoria, Brain By Barbie" or BBVBBB for the purpose of this post.
Yesterday she had shoes on that no self respecting Transvestite would wear even though they literally screamed "tranny shoes!" Some poor lady in our cafe spilled coffee whilst staring in wonder and horror at them while BBVBBB was in line.
Did I mention she dyes her hair a rather prostitootie shade of red?
Sounds like she just got in. I should go check out today's costume :p

We're So Pretty, Oh So Pretty...Pretty Vacant
So today is the day kiddobean gets to see the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. I am pretty sure we are looking at only a cast but you never can tell. I ended up not working this weekend. Was up at 3am on Saturday with a migraine and just as it was starting to get better I got to spend an hour talking to 2 different billing entities. This after having to go through it on Wednesday when kiddo was seen at Urg Care. My headache returned, needless to say. Something about being asked if the parent's birthdays had changed, was the final kicker. Yeah the ex and I like to go back in time and cherry pick our birthday's according our current whim. Duh.
And I WORK for these people!
Bout the only thing I got done on Saturday was making a large pot of homemade vegetable pasta soup, and a dish of homemade mexican chocolate pudding. The pudding was yummers. We ate that in a day! Last night while watching Iron Chef I was hit with the urge to make Butterscotch pudding. Added a splash of bourbon to that. That will be there for tonight. And it is hella good. Homemade butterscotch owns.
Last night kiddo stayed over at her grandmothers since the YiaYia (which is greek for grandmother and what we call my mom) is taking her to the appointment today and I am meeting them there. The ex (husband variety) is out of town again. He is also sick as a dog. Anyone flying to San Fran on Sunday on his flight has my condolances. Typhoid Mary, in the house.
Kiddo and I got creative on work arounds for her foot. Upside down laundry hamper makes a perfect shower stool. I see Hefty bags figuring into this equations with the upcoming cast. Small child is not amused by this injury.
Alrighty, off for coffee and a smoke. I am out of here at 2:15 today. Cross town traffic....eek.

She Sells Sanctuary
That song is stuck in my head big time. I am having a day, campers. You know the kind where if it can go wrong, it will. Work related at least. Personal drama is not wanted right now, kthx.
I had kidlet an extra night this weekend due to her dad being at a Martini party. So very money baby :P ....rude I know. Anyhow I also had to run and pick her up today so she and the semi step brother are not unsupervised. Yippy. At least it is not a trip downtown!
It appears mom has calmed down, thank the Baby Jesus. She makes my BP go up when she is on a rampage. I am counting down the hours to 5. Going to go home, have a beer and read "Fried Green tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" whilst lounging on my couch in my pj's.
Money Baby!

Time Waste Management Indeed
Friday and I am the last one in the office. I am going cross eyed from editing. White paper and fluorescent lights are the devil. At least the regular workday ended on a high note. One of the girls in the office found an online ad for a guy who works here. It was beyond twee. I mean seriously sick up in the back of your throat producing. It was like a horrifying combo of some playboy caricature by Bill Murray crossed with Yanni or something. No! It was like Ian in High Fidelity wrote it! Seriously high smarm factor. But it was pretty damn funny if you know that person.
Personals are amusing. Hell dating is amusing. Not that I am dating. I am too stupid to date. It's that or I am disgusted with men in general, and that just sounds too depressing. It harshes my inner optimist's buzz. Better to be stupid than bitter, no?
But it is true, I do like men. Even with their completely different communication styles and all, I tolerate them far better than women with their chick games. Most of my life, I have had more male friends than women. But god damn it is akin to parting to red sea to find a guy who is decent and responsible. Ex husband....Great job, total asshole. Ex boyfriend....no job, great guy. It's like fuck it, I give up.
And don't get me started on sex. Seriously, from the first guy I ever slept with there was a 15 year gap until I met the last guy. A 15 year period of truly mediocre sex. Made me wonder just how much I had drunk in Europe the first time I jumped on the Love Train.
I guess I just lack the patience to deal with the whole "nobody is perfect" thing. I'm not perfect and I frankly don't expect others to be. But is it TOO much to ask that a guy be a decent human AND have a job? Bleh...I'd rather spend the rest of my life in a Fat Brando phase than deal with another asshole who has a decent job. Or play Mrs. Sugarmama to decent guys who need to grow a pair and get a life.
Now if only I could get my friends and family to accept that. It get the feeling they are into that whole "you complete me" philosophy with regards to relationships. Tell you what, campers. In my experience it is more like "you completely exhaust me."
Sounds bitter, doesn't it :P
