Wake Up Kids We Got The Dreamers Disease

Happy New Year and yada yada yada blah blah blah.

There is something about this particular time of year that just irks me. I think it is that whole "fresh start" "new beginnings" "brand new day" thing that drives on me. It's sappy. It's simplistic. And in the case of that last slogan, it's a friggin herpes commercial jingle.

I have nothing against new beginnings. I have everything against false starts. This time of year seems to be dedicated to the patron saint of false starts. It's unrealistic. It's ritualized unrealism, to be specific. Most of our good intentions are out the door by Jan 15th, and barely remembered by the 31st.

Now if this sounds diametrically opposed to my last post (cringing in fear right below this one) allow me to make myself clear. It's a year round thing people. Not 2 weeks of paving hell with good intentions and then going back to MeMe Land.

This rant has been inspired by the mindless idiots on morning talk radio and the ABSOLUTELY inane comments I hear coming from our bimbo. Better known as BBVBBB.

Grr. It's driving on me. Like sand in the asscrack.
