We Could Be Heros, Just For One Day

Having a David Bowie rock out moment. I suppose if I were forced to choose one song, Hero's would be it. Love that song. At work. Everyone is super cranky. My boss just pawed through my printing (large excel spreadsheet with attachments) and got it all out of order. I am breathing in slowly and doing my Jedi Zen Mind Trick to calm myself.

Whacking ones boss with a stapler is generally not a move guaranteed to increase your upward mobility. The weather is odd. It looks like we have a frosting of white sand outside. It's freezing fog. I HATE this weather in this state. Oregonians are such piss poor drivers to begin with, they really do not need the addition of any sort of inclement weather funsies.

I am locking my earphones in place and heading back to the back to put together my packets today and tomorrow. No school so I do not have to go play Kidlet Pick-me-up and I can really pack on the overtime. I am shooting for 35 hours this pay period. I seriously need to get caught up. Of course my program is still hosed so creating my jobs is taking for ever.

Get this, we have a group of our IT guys, the Vendor's IT guys, and some Microserfs all working on fixing this issue. They are called "The Anonymous Software Vendor Application_01 SWAT TEAM.

SWAT TEAM. Capitals their call, btw. Do you see what I am dealing with here? This application went tit's up on Oct 6th. It's Dec 18th.

I am screwed :P

All The People So Many People

Lost and found ex is found. He was apparently too tired to call. And his blackberry thingie is broken. And he forgot my office number. And apparently his girlfriend's phone didn't work. Oh and Kidlet's phone that is over at his house didn't work. And my emails that he was able to read on his laptop were unanswerable. Oh and they didn't have my office number on them, even though every single frickin other email I send has my signature and phone number.

You get the point. Whole lotta excuses. Poor kidlet. What is worse, worry your dad is hurt or missing or finding out he just kinda blew you off. To go to a movie. We finally got a hold of him around 6. Mmmk.

THIS is why we are no longer co-habitating, kthx.

It does no good to get pissed either. He lives in his own world and I am sure has any number of reasons why we are over reacting, possibly even mentally ill in our need for communication and attention. That last bit, in case you are wondering, is a oldie but goodie he used to toss at me when I wanted him to log off his damn computer and actually spend time with me. Mentally unstable person that I am :P

Enough about him. Meh.

SO....Eval. It went fine. I got the low end of what I thought I would get, mostly because I had more than 6 personal ill days. Yes 6. In a year. And that is for things like the Air Conditioner dude not showing up as well as my flu. So I got a 3% rather than a 3.5% raise. Big whoop. I think that works out to a whopping 120 bucks a YEAR less after taxes. The hardest part was the freaky mental image of Gwar and chickens and sex I was talking about yesterday.Ended up be the only amusing part of my day.

On a side note I am THRILLED to see that Rupert Murdoch has called off that entire OJ debacle. Our local station had already announced it would not air the interview which makes me even more happy that I took the time to email them and threaten a boycott!

Shut Your Mouth, Try Not To Panic

Good God I am feeling so stressed these days. Totally under the gun. I have too much to do and too little time to do it in. GAH!!!!

Freak out done. My natural Scarlett O'Hara "I'll think about it tomorrow" instinct is kicking in. It is that or the coffee. I gotta get a grip. It is getting really old to wake up and realize that a month is gone and you really have nothing to remember it by. I am marking time till I can move, that is true, but I seriously need to get some balance going here. Did I mention I need a vacation?

I am still hopeful of Hawaii in April of next year. Kiddobean is clamoring to go back to Atlanta, which of course I'd love to do. Maybe shoot for that next summer. Yes I said summer. In the South. I like humidity. Sue me.

Speaking of marking time, today would be my 13th wedding anniversary. Technically it still is as the ex husband and I are legally not ex'd at all. I paid once, people. Not my problem if the child rearing as divorced parents classes were missed. I had a mom in traction and the ex is the ex. Even he admits he is totally unorganzied. So legally we are still married. Without said classes, the decree ain't gonna get signed. And now I'd have to pay again. Haven't lived together for six and a half years, but still hitched.

The upside of it is that it keeps me from doing anything stupid, like deciding to give the state of matrimony another whirl. Face it, people, if I am too stupid to date, it's a safe friggin bet I am WAY too dumb to marry. He doesn't seem to in any hurry cause it sure is a conversation stopper to any woman he dates when the whole "let's get hitched" convo comes up.

Add to that we are both monumentally lazy :p

It is kinda amusing though. But I have never been very conventional, so why should my split be any different? It's taken over 6 years but these days we get along just fine.

Miss H is thinking of setting up a blog. Would do her a shit load of good. She has too much going on and needs a way to express it. Writing works wonders for that.

We now return you to your regularly schedule lives.

This Is The Stuff Life's About...

...And It Trips Me Out

Fuck me running. Ended up at home yesterday with Mister AC Installer Man since my mom had to deal with an emergency doctor appointment for my grandfather. He was acting loopy as all get out, apparently. So of course, I didn't get all of June out on time and that fucks my stats for the entire year. Which fucks my raise, kthx.

On the bright side, AC is the shiznits. I finally had a decent nights sleep last night.

Have yet to hear from Miss H on our weekend bacchanalia so I need to call her. The shit part is I now have to work all day today and all day tomorrow. I was already planning on working 4 hours on the 4th as well. So much for doing me right, eh?

I don't have the kidlet (that I know of) on the 4th but I think I will go sit out on the big lawn in our neighborhood and see if I can see the fireworks. We could see them during the airshow out at the airport, so I am hoping I get a show. I love fireworks. I am a frustrated pyro at heart, me thinks. It comes from having a mother who literally stood over me with a hose in hand when I had my sparkler fun as a child. She is a bit uptight.

Since my OT will be going up the next two months I am pondering two expenditures. First off a laptop and wireless network. Second...MORE INK!

You can tell which I get more excited over :P
