Ok we have Actor and Actress and then Foreign Language film coming up.
Foreign Language films are up first The Class, Departures, Revanche, Waltz With Bashir (which is going to win) and one more I missed cause I suck....I am blown away that Waltz With Bashir did not win! Departures, a Japanese film about a classical musician who takes a job in a mortuary.
Now we have the boo hoo moments of those who have died in the last year. Last year was so awful what with Heath only having been gone for a month. Queen Latifah is sing I'll Be Seeing You. Nice song choice. Bernie Mac was a great guy....Aww...Stan Winston and of course Paul Newman to close the tribute ...man he was a great actor.
Now we are up to the Director. Cute little Reese Witherspoon is reading the nominees. Danny Boyle for Slumdog is a likely win in my opinion. And I LOVE Danny. Danny did one of my all time favorite movies, Trainspotting.
Along with Danny we have Ron Howard for Frost Nixon, David Fincher for Benny Buttons, Steven Daldry for The Reader and Gus Van Zant for Milk. But Danny wins it just like I knew he would.
We are back and it is Best Actress Time...GIVE IT TO KATE. Let's see who we will have presenting. So many past winners are in the house. We get Sophia Loren, Shirley McClain, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard. HOW old is Sophia?! Cause that woman is fierce as hell.
Shirley is giving props to Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married and Annie is tearing up big time, Marion Cottilard is introducing my girl, Katie for The Reader and it was lovely as well. Halle has Melissa Leo in The Frozen River ..she won the Spirit Award last night. Sophia, of course, has Meryl Streep. One legend has another. I have not seen Doubt but the very idea of Meryl playing a nun scares the shit out of me. Meryl is gorgeous as well. And that leaves Nicole Kidman with Angelina Jolie. Odd thing about Angie is that she is so much a tabloid fixture that it always comes as a bit of a shock to watch her act. She is so very very good. And the winner is... KATE WINSLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh hells yes! Now I am happy. Time for Best Actor..Bobby DeNiro, Ben Kingsley, Anthony Hopkins, Adrian Brody and Michael Douglas to present. I am guess Sean will get it for Milk. Michael Douglas is first up with Frank Langella's Nixon in Frost Nixon. I have not seen the movie but I have seen clips and Frank is amazing. Bobby DeNiro has Sean Penn for Milk. Funny to think that Spicoli grew up to be such a heavy weight. Adrian Brody has Richard Jenkins for The Visitor. Anthony Hopkins has Brad with Benjamin Buttons which is nice as they have worked together and last but not least, Ben Kingsley with Mickey Rourke...Oh my...the juxtaposition of Mickey Rourke with the Rob over his should in view is like night and day. Again...not even with a borrowed VaJay. Nuh uhh. He was amazing in Sin City though.
And I called it! Sean Penn for the win. HAHA! Commie Homo Loving Son A Guns ...nice lead in Sean. I knew they would give it to Sean. And YOU GO on the Anti Prop 8 Speech. Classy call out for Mickey too.
That leaves Best Movie... Stephen Spielberg is up to announce the nominees but first up a retrospective of past winners that play off the nominees. Benny Buttons, Frost Nixon, Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader, and Milk. I am gonna go out on a limb and say Milk. And the winner is......Slumdog Millionaire. Well maybe now they will put it in more theaters!
All in all a great show and with Statues for Heath and Kate I am quite pleased. And now I am off to watch something trashy and totally NOT award worthy. Thank you all for reading my rambles!

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 6
Ok I am happy now. If they give Kate Winslet her statue I will be fully happy with the outcome of the awards.
Heath's Family accepted and it was short and lovely.
We are now up to documentary awards. I love documentary movies. Werner Herzog is one very intense dude. I am not familiar with any of the movies aside from Trouble The Water. Cute lil French crazy fucker who tightropes between buildings won. Short subject we have some seriously downer looking films. Wow. Need a drink now. They should have renamed that one the Wrist Cutter Award.
Back and we have an action flick montage. Bond, Speed Racer, Dark Knight, Iron Man, Hancock, Indiana Jones, Hulk, Wanted, Hellboy, That Cruise Nazi Movie, The Mummy....damn. Now I wanna go watch Iron Man and The Dark Knight again.
It's Will Smith! I love Will Smith. HAHA....good one the things action movies have ...fans. They get no respect. We have the Visual Effects ...Benny Buttons, Dark Knight, Iron Man....with Benny Buttons winning it again. Well as Will pointed out they did manage to turn Brad Pitt into a Garden Gnome.
Sound Editing time...Dark Knight, Iron Man, Slumdog (I am so gonna be annoyed) Wall E and Wanted. Winner is....The Dark Knight.
Sound Mixing time - Benny Buttons, Dark Knight, Again with Slumdog, Wall E and Wanted. Shirtless McAvoy was the best thing about Wanted. Winner is Slumdog. Just mmk.
Still Will...which he just commented on. Film editing award time - Frost Nixon, The Dark Knight, Milk, Slumdog, Benny Buttons ....winner is Slumdog Millionaire.
Eddie Murphy is up to present and he has a statue in his hand. We are paying tribute Jerry Lewis tonight for his humanitarian work with the MDA telethon.... oh Jebus Walks...do we have to have MORE Coldplay?
Commercial break time and time for me to have some roast turkey, wild rice with mushrooms and green beans for dinner. Party leftovers...YEAH!
We are getting down to the bread and butter of the awards now. Music in movies. The Academy has weird rules for songs in movies. I was miffed as shit last year when Hard Sun was not nominated and I know plenty of people pissed off by the lack of Springsteen for The Wrestler.
Oh Jebus..Zaquisha Efron and Alicia Keyes...yuck. Score noms are Milk, Slumdog, Wall E, Definance and Benny Buttons....winner is Slumdog.
More Frickin Zac with the best song with two from Slumdog being sung by the guy who just accepted the award for score. With a full on Bollywood production number kickin here. John Legend is sing the Wall E one as Peter Gabriel boycotted the ceremony due to the time limit on the songs. What a bland crop this year. No offence to Boss fans but I think the best song from a movie in recent memory was Hard Sun. Winner is ...Slumdog Millionaire.

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 5
LOL...Joachim Phoenix is so this years butt of the joke. Ben Stiller is doing him ala Letterman perfectly. Right down to the gum on the podium. HAHAHAHAHAHA! "You look like you work at a Hassidic Meth Lab."
With that we are onto Cinematography ....and Stiller is wondering. Nominees are Benny Buttons, Slumdog, Dark Knight, Changeling and The Reader....Slumdog takes it. Um. Why. It was filmed in an ACTUAL Indian Slum. Dark Knight was robbed on that one in my opinion. But apparently the Academy et all is intent on 'gasming over Slumdog.
Next up...Justin Timberlake's Girlfriend! Seriously does Jessica Biel work anymore?
And suddenly we are at another commercial? Odd. We had a break, 2 mins for Biel to babble about the technical awards and bam...commercial. Oh but hey they are showing the trailer for Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr in The Soloist. Have I mentioned how much I love Robert Downey Jr? Cause I LOVE Robert.
IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN KISS KISS BANG BANG GO GET IT NOW.
Subtle am I not? And we are back... It's an Apatow Short Film with James Franco and Seth Rogan doing their Pineapple Express characters... LOL! They are singing ABBA! Basically they are mocking the hell out of all of the Best film noms....including the make out scene in Milk where James Franco kisses Penn.... ok that was funny.
And after that short film we have the Short Film Live Action award. The Pig....LOL so many ex jokes, so little time.....Sorry :P
Bathroom break cause like I know I should care, but yeah......
Ok we have had a teaser for Best Supporting Actor. Hugh is back and celebrating The Musical. I love musicals so that is dandy with me. Oh this is very retro 40s..they are doing a montage of famous songs. Singing in the Rain, All That Jazz, West Side Story, Moulin Rogue...We got Beyonce and her Breasts putting on their tassles...er top hats. LOL...Grease! Kidlet and I are gonna watch Grease next week. I love to hate that Movie.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.
Did we HAVE to have the gross little High School Musical Moment? 'Scuse me whilst I hurl.
No love for Rocky Horror....how shameful.
Hah... that number was created by Baz Luhrman. It was very Bazzy.
Ok we have had some filler here and I am not talking Beyonce's breast. Not too bad though, all things considered, this show is much zippier than past ceremonies.
OK...I think we have the Best Supporting Actor now with the same format as the Actress award...it is. They better NOT fuck this up. Alan Arkin, Cuba Gooding, Joel Grey, Christopher Walken, and Kevin Kline will read the noms.
Alan Arkin is introducing Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt. Joel Grey is doing Josh Brolin in Milk and points out that last years winner won for hunting down Josh in No Country For Old Men. Cuba Gooding Jr is up now and of course he is doing Robert Downey in Tropic Thunder...perfect for a white actor playing a white Australian actor who plays a Black man in Blackface. Love it. Walkin has Michael Shannon for Revolutionary Road playing Kathy Bates son with mental illness. He is the lynch pin of the plot. And that leaves Kevin introducing Heath's. DO NOT FUCK UP, ACADEMY. Heath's family is in house.
And the winner is...Heath.
His mom, dad and sister Kate are accepting for Heath. Trivia...Heath and Kate were named from Wuthering Heights.

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 4
We are back and they are taking us through the process of making a movie.
LOL...Tina Fey and Steve Martin! Cute! Screenplay awards. OH SNAP, dig at Scientology! ...In Bruges is nominated. FUNNY movie. I recommend it a lot. Oh but Milk is nominated as well...and Wall-E. Me thinks Milk gets it. And I was right. I think Hollywood is still reeling from snubbing Brokeback and then having Heath die so soon afterwards. Milk can only benefit from it. Gotta see that movie as well.
Stupid fucking Prop 8.
Adapted screenplay awards are next up. Bengamin Buttons. I have heard that the movie has sucked out the black humor of the story. Doubt, Frost/Nixon, The Reader (another movie I have to see) and Slumdog Millionaire. Betting Slumdog.
And I am right again. I shoulda put money on these.
ROFL... Jack Black's Pixar comment was funny. Maniston is doing her damnest to not look at Brad and Angie. Which is hard since they are front row.
Animation time. Long form. Wall E is gonna win all of this. No doubt. Wall E. Big shocker. Poor Jack Black, no love for Kung Foo Panda. Which was funny, btw. Dunno about Wall E. It seems a wee bit too preachy to me. I kinda wanna go out and buy a large can of Aqua Net in rebellion.
Next up Animated Short Form - Oktapodi looks cool. Ditto Presto. They have that Wallace and Gromit feel. Ohh...this way up looks all Nightmare. And the winner is a Frenchie film with Winnie the Pooh. LOVE Pooh. HAHAHAHAHA....Ok the Asian guy who made it wrapped up his speech with Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto. That was good.
Ok we are talking Art Direction now with Daniel Craig and Sarah Jessica Parker. Buttons is going to win this one. And....I called it. They had to span 80 years in their set design. Pretty impressive.
Costume design...The Duchess springs to mind as the obvious choice to me, although Buttons again had that HUGE length of time to cover. But The Duchess wins it. The gowns in that really are stunning.
Make Up Artists - Joker versus Benjamin Button versus Hellboy II - betting Benny. And I called that one. The Jokers makeup was great, but that character lived and breathed due to Heath.
OH OH OH.....ROB!!!! He is adorable and he didn't fuck up his lines like he thought he would. Dorky boy. They introduced what romance looked like in 2008. Nice montage. Still boggles me to watch Kate and Leo dancing in 50's clothes. This would have been MUCH BETTER without Chris Martin's singing. Douche Boy.
Hah! They showed bits from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Enough fucking High School Musical.
Ok that was fun.

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 3 - Let The Show Begin!
Here we go! The set looks awesome. We have the Lawrence of Arabia theme all jazzed up.
LOL Robert Downey Jr is funnah. HAH...ok Jackman got off a good one poking fun at the flop that was Australia.
Here we go, opening number... hah ok Hugh serenading Kate Winslet about excrement is funnah. And we are on to Milk... HAHAHA....The big question, why was the Dark Knight not nom'd?!
Ok the Benny Buttons montage was fun, the baby doll was a bit creepy though. And the Frost Nixon number with Anne Hathaway as Nixon?! Love it! Robot Dance number for The Reader is hysterical. Even Hugh is laughing. Ok that was the best opening number I have seen at the Oscars in a very long time. That was great!
Ok it's time for an actual award right off the bat. Best Supporting Actress is being presented by 5 past winners and each of them is introducing a nominee. I like that. Odds on favorite for this catagory is Penelope Cruz. I love her, and I really do need to watch Vicky Christian Barcelona. And the winner is....Penelope Cruz! She looks lovely tonight. She was much too good for Tom "Hold Me Xenu" Cruise. Poor girl really does look like she might pass out.

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 2 - The Red Carpet
Ok I guess I am gonna have to see Slumdog Millionaire here fairly soon.
The dresses so far have just been "eh" for me.
Vannesa "Look at my Cooter" Hudgens and Zaquisha Efron are on now. Blech. That boy wears more make up than your average drag queen. Gimmie Rob.
Natalie Portman looks lovely. She annoys the fuck out of me, but she looks lovely.
Gah. Love Amy Adams. Hate her ensemble. That necklace is just too much for me.
HATE what Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing. Love Ferris though =)
And there he is! Oh my goodness. The boy is gorgeous. Sorry Johnny, but Rob has bumped ya to second place. And the hair is back. Eat your heart out Zaquisha, cause that is what good looks like. Ryan Seacrest is asking stupid questions per the usual. Yay! Rob got to plug Little Ashes. Coming in May!
Wow Seth Rogan has lost a LOT of weight. A LOT. Must be for his role in The Green Hornet movie.
E is now doing a run down of hot leading men.
Leo, Brad, WTF...Mickey Rourke? Not even in the whole 9 and A Half Weeks era did I find him to be anything other than sleazetastic. Not only would I NOT do him, I wouldn't do him with my worst enemies vajayjay. No how. No Way.
GAH...Tom Cruise. What a douchebag. And a crazy one at that. Go away Tom, Xenu is paging you. And give us back Will Smith. Ya dick.
Oh oh oh! James McAvoy! Thank you E Television =)
Anne Hathaway is so gorgeous. Love her dress, love her look, just flat out love her. That dress is just lovely.
Robert Downey Jr is awesome. LOVE Robert. SO glad he lived through his addictions. He is too talented to have lost.
Who all thinks Sean Penn is the most talented actor of his generation? Cause I would say Robert is a better actor. Maybe it's cause I just hated Mystic River. That said I do want to see Milk cause Harvey Milk was an amazing man and I am so glad that they made a movie about him. It's interesting to think what the AIDS outbreak of the 80's would have been like if Harvey had been alive.
Queen Latifah is going to sing during the dedication to those who have passed.
Jessica Biel looks lovely. She didn't bring Justin though. Stupid girl, left her best accessory at home.
Evan Rachel Wood is on and she appears to have dropped her imitation of Dita Von Teese.
There are a LOT of nominees and big names that we have not seen on the carpet. They did a good job of keeping the secret of who all will be presenting.
Daniel Craig looks very, well, Bond like. Go figure =)
Penelope Cruz looks lovely. Philip Seymour Hoffman looks like he just woke up.
Brad and Angelina look amazing as usual.
Oh Kate Winslet looks GORGEOUS. I LOVE her dress. Her hair is so 40's chic. I still have to see Revolutionary Road with her and Leo.
Ok folks, time for me to make some tea and get out the Pumpkin Cheesecake my Mom made last night for Dad's party. Food was AWESOME. Roast Turkey breast, wild rice, mixed greens salad with candied pralines, blue cheese, orange and cranberries in a raspberry vinagrette. And that cheesecake. Yummers!
The awards start in 10 minutes. See you all soon!

Naked Gold Dude Review Pt 1.
Hola Peeps. Everyone ready for the Naked Gold Dude Awards? I am! Hugh Jackman is a favorite of mine and I am hoping he does a great job tonight. Rob Pattinson is rumored to be presenting. Yummers on that one. Miley the Slut is NOT presenting this year. Hah :P
There are really only two awards I am invested in this year. First off, give Kate Winslet her friggin award already. Meryl Streep is a wonderful actress but come on all ready. Kate is, in my opinion, the best actress of her generation. Of course I think Leo is overdue as well, Blood Diamond and The Departed were both stellar performances in my opinion.
The second award and the one I am really watching this for is Best Supporting Actor. Heath Ledger better win that or I am going to be incandescent with rage. Really. And before everyone says he is a shoe in, I'd like to point out that James Dean was nominated for both Giant and East of Eden and lost both times. Heath would only the second posthumous winner, the first being Peter Finch for Network. Of course the parallels with Dean and Ledger to me have always been pretty weak. Heath was a much better actor in my opinion.
I am now gonna have me some Thera-Flu and cheese and crackers and watch the red carpet. I'll be back here in about an hour and a half to kick off the all Starr and Nude Gold Dude Review.
I recommend you drink ;)
